Replacement button board for the HP iPaq 5455 and 5555 with fingerprint reader. This is an button board and fingerprint reader replacement. There are several things that might require the replacement of your button board or fingerprint reader. They include a broken reset switch, broken hat switch and damage to the cradle connector.
Installation Tip: When opening the HP iPaq 5x55 use a T5 size torx driver to remove the four screws on the back of the case. Open the case from the sides and bottom first then slide it slightly upward towards the top of the unit very slightly before completely removing the back. Note that the black plastic at the top of the PDA is a part of the back so be careful not to break any of the retaining clips. Reverse that process when closing the case.
Installation Tip: Make sure you remove the stylus and any expansion cards before removing the back case.
