Button board for Handspring Visor Edge PDA. If one or more of your buttons have stopped working then here is a replacement button board. This board sits under the Power, Up, Down, and application buttons at the bottom of the PDA. It is labeled the 'Slinky Button Board' and is a common part to wear out over time because the buttons are mechanical and will loose their ability to spring back or return to their un-depressed position.

Installation Tip: When opening the Handspring Visor Edge PDA remember that there is a plastic part of the housing that sandwiches between the front faceplate and the backplate. This plastic part has a section that dips down under the board so it is necessary to be carefull to work the screen and mainboard out.

Installation Tip: The LCD backlight is soldered to the mainboard via two rigid wires. Make sure to remove the mainboard and LCD screen as a single unit. Also do not flex the rigid wires too much because they are solid, not braided, and metal fatigue will easily break them if flexed too much.
